LUIS FERNANDO MEJÍA JARAMILLO

Luis Fernando Mejía Jaramillo was an architect who graduated from the National University of Colombia (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, UNAL) in Medellín. Although he practiced architecture professionally, he never abandoned drawing, a discipline he pursued with exceptional talent and dedication from childhood throughout his life.In 1983, he co-founded El Taller de Grabado in Medellín, where he remained active until 1999, when he left to establish his own workshop. For more than thirty years, including the years before completing his architecture degree, he taught at technical institutes and institutions of higher education.Gifted with exceptional talent and a strong academic foundation, Mejía Jaramillo became a respected figure in Medellín's art community. Throughout his career, he was a steadfast advocate for drawing and printmaking, championing both as major artistic disciplines worthy of the highest recognition.
